Applying drop shadows

You can apply a drop shadow to a rectangle, which causes the rectangle to appear to float above the background. You can adjust the offset of the drop shadow to make the rectangle appear deeper. Acceptable values for the offset range from 1 to 20.

You can use drop shadows on the following types of controls:

To apply a drop shadow to a control

  1. Open the document in Design or Editable Mode.

  2. Add one of the controls listed above.

  3. Right-click the control and select Properties and Formatting. The Properties and Formatting dialog box opens.

  4. From the left, select Effects.

  5. Select the Enable Drop Shadows check box.

  6. Use the slider to adjust the thickness of the drop shadow.

  7. Click OK to apply the changes to the control and return to the document.
